I did put a comment in my ticket at NewBlue complaining about the performance of the replication function and they responded with some words that make some sense. The problem that plugin developers seem to have with Sony Vegas is that it's plugin api only gives them access to a few frames at a time. Deshaker on the other hand does a full export and processess all the frames completely outside of Vegas which allows it to do a better job. I don't know when Vegas is finally going to overcome this serious limitation.

Suprised there was no comments. Am I the only one that thinks the Vegas Plugin system needs to be improved?

Bigrock? Do you mean generally,or specifically with this stabilization process? - Interesting . . .

I think he means the whole "Vegas can only pass one frame at a time to a plugin" thing. That is the problem that keeps Vegas plugins from being able to do things like look ahead or behind to fill in frames like the VirtualDub approach does.

Laurence is right I was talking about the whole plugin issue of a few frames at a time. That is what NewBlue tech support told was a limiting factor to their plugin (and everyone elses for that matter). This is needs to be greatly improved. Vdub approach works but it is a lot slower and lot less convienent.

Stabilization is only one instance where this has a major impact. Using other plugins like BorisFX is not easy with this plugin in setup as it is. It makes this NLE product a lot less "Professional" in my eyes.
