Every time I launch Sony Vegas Pro 16 or 15 it crashes after getting to "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing...". I have tried LOADS off fix's non have worked so far.

Disable IGPU [X]

Uninstall Framework and Reinstall [X]

Set NVIDIA's power mode to High Performance [X]

and a few other minor fix's that all turned out to not work.

Update GPU drivers. What exact GPU are you using?

Systems:

Desktop

AMD Ryzen 7 1800x 8 core 16 thread at stock speed

64GB 3000mhz DDR4

Geforce RTX 3090

Windows 10

Laptop:

ASUS Zenbook Pro Duo 32GB (9980HK CPU, RTX 2060 GPU, dual 4K touch screens, main one OLED HDR)

I am using a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti

Downgrade the Intel iGPU drivers. The latest kept me from loading Vegas with the same error on my Dell Xps 15 with NVIDIA 1050 card. First I rolled back thr NVIDIA drivers but still got the same error and realized Intel was at fault.

Did updating to the latest Nvidia driver help? I am using a GTX 970 without issue, and I know many others on here use the 10 series cards without issue as well, so there is likely something on the driver level stopping Vegas from loading the GPU support.

Usually when I'm having an issue with Vegas, it is because I am not using the latest graphics driver. And NVIDIA seems to be doing a lot of updates, at least once a quarter or something close to that.

I am having the same problem and I have tried all the suggested trouble shooting steps including setting Vegas Pro Edit 15.0 to run in performace mode in Nvidia Control panel. Setting it to run on dedicated GPU does not apply because I have a desktop with the on-board gpu disabled in bios. I don't have Intel iGPU driver installed. Windows and GPU drivers are both up to date. With everything that I have tried it hangs in startup at "Initializing GPU-accelerated video processing..."

My system is: Win10, GTX 980ti, i7-7700K, 32Gb RAM, Asus Motherboard.

Did you already tried to start-up with that GPU disabled in Windows device management and when the program starts enable it again?
