Interestingly the sys reqs for Vegas say:

4 GB RAM (8 GB recommended)

OldSmoke, have you ever tried taking out half the memory and seeing the difference?

No I haven't. I use 16GB but no Windows Swap file; just the minimum required. You can go for 8GB, just search for the same model just 2 sticks only.

Ah the swap file, I didn't even think of that, that could certainly slow things down as compared to using ram. Good point
