If you split a text, it's still the same event. Check in project media! Instead, copy the text event, and paste it. When Vegas asks, select "create a new copy..." If you would select "create a reference..", you'd just repeat your problem.

If I'd need 4 texts in 4 corners at different times, I'd use 4 tracks, 4 text events.

This is a very quick and dirty example, just to show the idea...

Well that is a bit weird especially if I need a lot of text in different times during the video but that makes sense, thank you so much for the response and videoπŸ˜„πŸ˜„

Everyone in the galaxy reuses assets. The solution is to Save Preset from all of the unique text types and locations. Then, Right+Click and Insert Generated Media where you need a new copy of the asset.

Yeah just splitting a text even if you change one piece you change the others. To avoid this I like to copy and paste the text even. There will be a prompt to make it it's own event or not, which you should do.
