The new Screen capture in VMS 16

I just downloaded and installed VMS 16 - trying to make my first screen capture... there seems to be a neat option to directly insert the captured file into my project: I see the timer running > stopped... and no file to be found? Nothing to be found in the help manual on this topic also?

Maybe something is wrong with some settings.
See how it goes on my laptop

it is weird, I get these files in the desired folder... they are saved as .vegcap files and these files can not be added to the project

The .vegcap files are not the media files but meta data only which cannot be imported into Movie Studio.

On the bottom of the Screen Capture window there is a button which directly imports finished recordings into the Project Media of Movie Studio. But there is a bug in the capture process which on some systems prevents creating parts or even all of the media files. In my case often no video file will be created (and only a muted audio file for the microphone input).

I just tested it. It is broken for me too.

When I tell it to save to a certain folder, it just puts the "x..vegcap" 1k file in that folder but continues to put the video and audio files in "C:\Users\USE NAME\Captures\xxxxxxx" folder. It does not obey.

The mp4 video files work, but there is no audio in the mp4 files.

There is a separate audio wav file that is only 6 seconds long and records no sound. So no way to record sound. I have both possible audio sources selected in the video capture window.

VMS 16 also freezes after trying to do this.

So yeah the whole thing is broken. Much easier for me to use geforce experience capture from GTX1070 Nvidia drivers as VMS Platinum 16.0 latest build is still broken and buggy and unusable in many, many ways.

EDIT- And when I tried to import directly to timeline it also put them in the "C:\Users\USE NAME\Captures\xxxxxxx" folder, did not put them in timeline, and completely locked up upon exiting screen cap window. Had to delete task from task manager.

EDIT 2

It also does not capture mouse cursor.
