The problem when Undoing Move Events

CyberWolf wrote on 12/16/2016, 11:26 AM

This problem was in Vegas before the 12th version, after the last builds of Vegas 13 there is no any problem of this kind . But its appeared again in the 14th version. The problem is that sometimes after UNDOing MOVE EVENTS program has loading and not finished it anyway. Only restart of program with the loss of recent changes in the project helped in this situation. I am interested to know if there is someone with the same problem else or its apeears only for me? And maybe someone can tell me the solution of this problem.

Program: vegas 14 last build.

Media: MOV files from canon 6D and MP4 files from Lumix G7.

Working fine here.    Need more details about project, media, effects, etc.    Is something slowing your timeline down or slowing connection to disk drive - I never see that status bar at the bottom of your screen capture except when first loading a project.

Sometimes that also happens on previous VP13.

I've never seen this in VP12, 13 or 14 ... but maybe it's because I don't work with long timelines. This error might occur with long timelines. That's when you'd see the progress of an undo appear -- and apparently that's when things can go wrong with undo. I can't say that Vegas has never crashed on me -- but I'd rate VP14 as very stable. I have no issue with undo.

I cannot see the point of working with a timeline of more than 10 min. What do you gain?

@xberk.  OK. That seems right.  I put 2 hrours worth of old HDV tape on a timeline and indeed I can now see the status bar on undo's - doesn't crash though.

I agree, Vegas is very stable for me too.

Yes this problem usually comes when the timeline is long, my projects lenght always 3-5 hours of 2-5 fullHd cameras. I finally realized that Vegas is not for big projects.
Once I made a full length film editing on vegas 13. It was hell for me. The program worked very scary. I was able to finish the project only on the day of the premiere.
Vegas is very good but it seems he was too old for the tasks for today. Maybe this the reason why sony sold it.

Editing too many MOV files sometimes very painful... perhaps if converted to 'Vegas' friendly format... it can be different.

I once edit Canon XF100's MPEG2 MXF format, and it was quite troubling... and those who worked with SD MPEG-2 also had similar heavy painful task.
