There's 2 well known filters. Neat Video & DeNoiser III

Neat Video is cheaper & used to be the best. I've used Denoiser II but not III.

That's shockingly bad noise & banding though.

Could you share a clip (e.g. on Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, mega.nz, wetransfer.com or mediafire.com)? Would make a great comparison test. I'd like to see how AviSynth does with it.

that's the super fast (pretty much just auto profile + some sharpening) job with neat video 4.

dont have time to play with it properly (it's really really bad!) , but there are some great manuals online how to do in depth fixing, which should give you much better results.

but hopefully that will give you some sort of an idea...

I guess Neat Video has motion detection, and so a moving picture may look better. That's why I requested a sample rather than just put AviSynth denoisers on the still.

That's a very good cleanup job considering.

Unfortunately that shot is pretty much a white rabbit in a snow field. I always find de-noise a bit artificial, and would go with the negative qualities of the image. Then try and make the shot something different, allowing Vegas filters to re-write the pixels to downplay the noise.

But there is not a lot of contrast between the face and the background. I would just consider tossing the media if you can cut around it.

Clearly it's up to you to find something that fits your story / wedding story.

I agree with Astar. If you can't clean it up sufficiently with Neat Video, then as the saying goes, "If you can't beat them, join em." If you cleaned it up, added some filter effects (blur, vignette, or sepia or something), you could make it look like a different time period. Add some old music. And then when people say they loved it, you can say you planned it all along. Some people actually like to add noise to the image. Not me, but there's no accounting for "art."
