TOT: the game

Bruno Mars at halftime was classic, classy, and all in good taste. I give it an A+.
The sound was much better than the last Fox halftime show.

Regarding the game, I keep reliving Elway's 55-10 loss to the 49er's in 1990. He actually looked worse then than Manning did tonight (Elway went on to win twice, in 1997 and 1998).

I can tell you Denver is the quietest place on earth tonight, not a car on the streets.

Seahawks proved the value of TEAM! That, and youth and complete awesome self-belief.

Great game. Great season..... Great franchise!

Thanks Yanks for a superb AmFootball finale. Oh yeah, Bruno & The Chills? I'm still Stompin' and Groovin'

You could have got 100:1 at the 3rd quarter for that scoreline. I think the odds of the Seahawks at SUPERBOWL 49 are going to be much closer.

+1 on halftime show!

My life has split almost equally between living in New Orleans and Indiana, so I've almost always had a Manning to root for. I've worked with the family - Archie, Peyton and Eli - professionally and they are a totally class act. It was sad for me to see a performance like this, even against a team like Seattle that appears to operate with a "hive" mentality. I don't think Peyton was physically all there, but no one was going to beat Seattle yesterday.

atom12: " . . . but no one was going to beat Seattle yesterday."

SH looked that way from the 2 point Safety - 12 seconds in from the get-go.

And a TD in the first eight seconds of the second half . . .
And four turnover recoveries . . .
And no turnovers given . . .
And oh, that look on Manning's face . . . plucked

Didn't watch the game but was forced to take calls from my son three times so he could lecture me on how Manning executes but can't close the deal. He's a 49R's fan and wanted to keep it in the conference.

I did record it though. I cut out the half time show and watched it this morning. Bruno Mars is one of my new favorites in the last year or so.

Then everyone on the planet should respond when they hear, "Give it away, give it away, give it away, now!" I did.

Agreed that Halftime Show was a lot classier than previous ones...but still, my gosh, what a cultural wasteland we've become. Yeah, I'm older than I once was, but I derived almost zero entertainment value from it.

Born and raised in California, but American football is a yawn to me. Now, this thing we call "soccer"--I can get into that.

Most of the commercials were just plain stupid. I enjoyed the Doberman/Chihuahua one, and of course everyone loves puppies+horses together. My favorite was ad for T-mobile, because it was so contrarian to the megabudget-ad mindset. You remember the message, too, and that's the whole point.

EDIT: Aw, come on Sony, the bleeped word was "s t u p i d." That's going a bit far, don't you think?

Love the Red Hot Chili Peppers but...com on guys, At least plug some wireless transmitters into your instruments, even if you aren't going to use them!

"EDIT: Aw, come on Sony, the bleeped word was "s t u p i d." That's going a bit far, don't you think?"

That was the result of a normally gentle veteran contributor using the word in reference to a narcissistic troll who richly deserved it ;?)

That T-Mobile ad broke the US commercial loudness act (CALM) by over 4dB !!!
It instantly goes on the top of my list of horrible ads for that reason.

Thanks for the kind words regarding the SHs. The sun is shining in Seattle today in more ways than one. The game left little doubt about the quality of Seattle football and the role the fans play in supporting our team.

Go Hawks!

WOT as far as the game itself, but this hysterical article on a Madden simulation of the game (with 7 foot, 400 pound Seahawks vs. 160 pound Broncos) had me in stitches.

Our neighborhood in North Seattle started celebrating during halftime. You could tell is was nearly over by then - and then Percy did his runnin' thang...it was really over.

Yeeowza!

Reports from ESPN radio say that yesterday's game was the most watched Super Bowl ever. Don't know if that's true or not but I suspect that the final score caused many people lose their wager. No one expected a 35 point blow-out. It was the 3rd largest winning margin in Super Bowl history.

I found the game to be very entertaining. The half-time show was pretty good too. They always bring in Top-Notch Pop acts but I would prefer to see Herbie Hancock or Wayne Shorter or maybe Djavan.
