I am running a trial version of V22. When I start clicking on the tabs, it really slows down changing screens. On the Effx tab, the cursor moved to the query box for a search and I could do nothing else but type in a search. I could not move the cursor to any other part of the screen. I had to do a 3 finger salute to close the program.
Windows 10, I5 12600, 16gb memory, Geforce GT 730.
You might post your file properties to see what might be causing the slowness.
Your graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements for Vegas Pro 22. That is almost certainly part of the problem, especially if using AI.

Your System RAM is inadequate for 4k and above. 32GB is recommended.
The media is irrelevent to the problem. My video card works fine for my needs and runs V20 without issue. I don't do 4K.
Is the GTX GPU disabled in VEGAS? If so, try that in preferences/ video and see if it helps. VP 18+ want NVIDIA 9XX or better GPUs.
The I5 12600 does have an iGPU and VP 21.300+ use way more system ram than they used to as the iGPU ram is shared and will take up to 50% of total system ram. With 32GB ram and the iGPU doing decoding I can get to 30GB of ram in use which slows the system significantly.
