Trying to get my audio to work

Hello and thank you all for taking the time to read this. I have recently updated my Vegas pro version to 17. I use to use vegas 12 on my old pc that ran windows 7. I decided recently to buy a new pc with Windows 10 and upgrade as well.. Upon doing this every time I try and transfer video files from my older camera to my computer the audio works just fine when playing the regular video on Windows, but when I upload it to Vegas the video transfers over but sadly no audio. Not sure if any added information will make any difference but My video camera is a Sony SR-100 a HDD video camera.

VP is not 'seeing' the AC-3 audio codec or it did not get installed.

How do I fix this I have tried to uninstall and reinstall this a few times and still get the same results.

Resetting is better than uninstalling and installing again.
You can reset all of the program by starting the program by doubleclick on the desktop startpic with holding Ctrl and Shift buttons of your keyboard down.
