Trying to Register Movie Studio Plat 12 and other Sony Vegas versions

Hello,

I activated my SONY Movie Studio Platinum Suite 12 directly with Sony at the time.

When I go to https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com to register my software with the S/N, I get a message saying that my S/N is already in use (“Serial number already in use”). When I click on “Generate activation codes,” I get the message “Product not yet registered.”

What should I do?
Ticket#2025102017002024

Thanks

I'm caught in a loop of the Vegas 9 license being recognized, but then activation code sequence says product not registered. Support ticket gave me the pat instructions and never did answer head-on my problem (even after I sent screenshots), and then closed the ticket! I'm agreeing with an earlier poster that it seems I am being herded to buy a new version.

The computer ID they are asking for is one generated from the installation app. I dont have the installer on hand on this PC currently so I cant recall how to get to the information but I think when it prompts you to do the registration thing it will give you the ID along with the rest of your registration information on a splash screen.

If its not displaying this information at any point I found that I had to click the "register from another computer" option, and when you get the html file to send you to the registration page (this is broken of course since the page no longer works) you can simply copy paste the url of the page it directs you to into notepad and within the html url parameters you can find your device ID there.

THIS tip was the god send! At no point does the fabled "Machine ID" ever appear via the installer software itself, but I could find it hidden inside the HTML file generated by the "Register from another computer" option. Heads up to anyone else, it is not something legible nor akin to the name you've given your computer, rather it's an obnoxious salad of letters and numbers similar in style to the activation and serial numbers themselves.
