Hi Guys

Does anybody know how to use a Slow-motion plug-in from fx? I have tried to drop it on the video I wanted to slow down and just a few settings but when trying to adjust the playback rate..while adjusting it from 1 let's say to 0.70 the only thing I can see is a black screen although the movie on the timeline has strached I can not see anything. Any advice or suggestions? Thank you JB

Is the "Split Screen" button pressed above the preview screen?

I tried this fx & although in the video below there is no msg & it appears to be using the GPU, it popped up later saying my GPU was not being used & the fx would be only using the CPU, the result is unusable, it also doesn't stretch (slow down) the media, the event itself is still the same length & repeats where the little triangle at the top of the event is, so the video itself is not slowed down, I would use the Stretch tool instead

VEGAS' slowmotion is not so good as Twixtor but OK to use. Steps:

Create a subclip to force the event in a "dead" length.

Set playback rate and adjust event length; the modification can be obtained on timeline.

Make a dynamicRAM view to check:

I just tried it on a clip and was able to see the preview of it no matter where I moved the cursor.

What build number for Vegas, what are your computer specs (see mine in the sig below), are your graphics drivers up to date, and what video type are you trying to add the effect to?

The Old Cynic responds: "Hi Guys, Does anybody know why one would use a Slow-motion plug-in from fx?"

If you're serious about time lapse, you should search the Internet and the Vegas forum going back ten or more years. It's a beautiful and fascinating art form, but not one to be reduced to one fX in a video editor.

All that being said, the answer from me is "No". I wouldn't have even thought to look for a Slow Motion fX.

@Janusz-Bus have you tried dragging the end of the clip with your mouse pointer while holding down the CTRL key?
