Any idea how to make a typewriter effect in New Blue Titler Pro inside Vegas Pro and in Vegas Movie Studio?

Does it have to be with titler pro? I know you can do it with the pro type titler.

Yes .. it must be with New Blue Titler Pro because Vegas ProType Titler is very buggy and not working correctly on Vegas Pro 16. See screenshots below:

I use ProType Titler for all my titles in VP16. I have not run into any bugs. Can you be more specific?

It's fairly easy to do a basic typewriter effect with ProType Titler but more difficult to do one that varies the speed at which the type is displayed to truly simulate a typewriter or keyboard.

@xberk -Yes, agreed. I’ve been using NBTP for several years now and I like using it because it has an immense amount of structured workflows including the options for rate variations, set by Keyframes. It would appear that VP PTT development has ground to a halt. There’s been no upgrading of the package nor any nod from them upstairs that it ever will. And that’s a real pity.

BTW, @xberk, great video. I honestly do appreciate your almost world-weary voice and pragmatic invitation to others to just ignore several of PTT’s mind-numbingly illogicalities and to just press on. IMHO, I just found that PTT sucked out any creativity I had or may have felt for my Title creations, left me like a man clawing his way through the Sahara and with his last gasp was seen grasping out at the promised water seen only in the reflected image of a Mirage, just always always out of reach.... And yes, NBTP hasn’t always been a “Walk In The Park”, but the good people at NB are always, and I mean this, always intent on improving it. This I like.

I tried the trial of titler pro. It seemed pretty cool, a bit of a learning curve but also kind of slow at least on my system. The stuff it seemed able to create look great though, I just wasn't really up to the learning curve. I usually only make simple text in vegas now a days. But I make use of all 3 of the text plugins, my favorite being legacy text, i'll sometimes use titles and text if i'm too lazy to go into another tab since the text button loads it and a few of the animations built in are ok, and I'll use pro type when I want to do a typed on effect or a simpler way to use a gradient occasionally. But I use hitfilm if I wanna be fancy with text. It also have a typed on effect now and you can make some pretty cool text it, which is largely why I decided not to get pro titler. Making text in hitfilm can be pretty convienient as well because you can just export a frame which will automatically be a transparent png, which is great for dropping text into vegas. Heres a cool text tutorial from a few days ago.

@Grazie True. This is the best reason to learn something new for titles.

@Dimitrios The Hitfilm tutorial for Game of Thrones title is a great example of how complicated title creation can be -- and how unnecessary. Maybe I'm old fashion but great titles never saved a poorly done piece -- nor did simple titles hurt a well crafted, compelling piece. Is Game of Thrones "must see" because of the titles? Personally, I don't spend a lot of time on titles.

And yet. Vegas needs a powerful and easy to use titler does it not? Maybe the new "Vegas Post" will provide it.

Well yes, something that sucks will suck no matter how much glitz you try to throw on it. The game of thrones intro sequence is awesome though, if you've never seen it I recommend checking that out at least.

Please see the attached screenshots. The plugin interface is very laggy and messed up and unuseable! And when I close and reopen the plugin, the interface becomes super tiny and very hard to use! Also I can not see the text I typed and I just see a blank text box!

THis looks like a system problem. Possibly Video card driver?

One thing to try is to see if you can run ProType on one of those older Version of Vegas you mentioned.

Do you see any other Vegas Pro 16 problems like FX windows truncating?

Another might be to turn off GPU acceleration.

Also you can try to reset the windows layout. View/Windows Layout/Default layout

This seems like a problem in displaying the ProType Window.

Did you have any sort of system update lately? New drivers?

If nothing else works .. try a reset of Vegas. Hold down the CTRL + SHIFT keys at the same time AND ALSO AT THE SAME TIME double click program icon on Desktop to Boot program. Select Delete all Cached Application Data and then press Yes. This will restore program to Factory Default Settings.

"THis looks like a system problem. Possibly Video card driver?" << It is not a system or driver related because I also have the same problem in my other computer.

"Do you see any other Vegas Pro 16 problems like FX windows truncating?" <<No .. only with ProType Titler.

"Another might be to turn off GPU acceleration" << Does not change anything

"Also you can try to reset the windows layout. View/Windows Layout/Default layout" << Does not change anything

"Did you have any sort of system update lately? New drivers?" << No ..This problem is since day one of installing Vegas Pro 16

"If nothing else works .. try a reset of Vegas..." << Did not help.

Obviously this is a bug in Vegas Pro 16 which I believe is related to High DPI 4K monitors.

I Titler Pro, go to the "Library" and then to "Transitions". Under Transitions, go to "Animations" and then to the "Type On" category. Then select the preset you want. You can then adjust the transition however you desire.
