Unable to import MOV files (again!)

In V21 latest and greatest update, I cannot bring these mov files into my timeline.
Footage came from a nikon z6 camera and what I can't figure out is that another nikon z6 camera I was able to import into Vegas (?!?)

I have the Enable Quicktime plugin enabled

@Julius_ Tried the second not working one.

No I can't get it to work, it shows the first frame but nothing after.

PS, the .mov does play in my other cheaper Magix Movie editor & Handbrake converted it ok to MP4.

On my laptop from signature with all important settings default, there is no problem to add and play both files in Vegas pro 21 latest build, look

I doubt that Legacy AVC Decoding will recognize a profile of High@L6.1. So, clear checkmark for Legacy AVC Decoding on the File I/O tab.

The second file (330 Mbps) is almost certainly trying to build a proxy when you import it into Vegas. There is little notice of this save for the progress bar. Is this perhaps what is causing your stall?

Thank you John...I uncheck the AVC legacy decoding and I am able to play the short file! I had turned that on because of some playback issues. Weird that one file can be opened and not the other.
Mark-y: No its not trying to build any proxy file.

 

Update: I am able to put the mov on the timeline with AVC decoding unchecked, but now my playback is so slow even in draft mode:(

@Julius_ My AVC legacy decoding was unticked & couldn't play the file in my pic earlier & if I go to the Project Media tab - Create Proxy I get a red screen,. 🤷‍♂️

@Former user Yeah another AVC ALL-I black frame hellscape. running default with Nvidia GPU decoder. The interesting thing is that it breaks Vegas. I screen recorded the problem started a new project imported recording and now that was flickering and then completely a black screen just as the original bad file played.

Restarted Vegas and my screen recording was now playing fine.
