Unexpected Rippling Result when extending the duration of an Event

Tripped up on this last night. MS14 Build 148. Rippling on for all tracks and markers.

I extended the length of an audio event which was a music clip extending back along the timeline several minutes. I expected that events on all tracks beginning past the end of the music clip would move along with the extension. But I found that events (dozens of them) that started at, or past, the start point of the music clip also moved. Yet the start point of the music clip hadn't been changed, just its length which altered its end point.

Best illustrated by this simple project. The top image is before extending the red clip. The bottom image is after the red clip has been extended by mouse dragging its end. As expected the cyan clip has moved but I don't consider that the green, yellow and magenta should also move.

Bug or by design?

It's been like that in Vegas Pro since at least version 10. It only happens if the ripple mode is set to "All Tracks, Markers & Regions". I tend to agree that it would be better if those shorter events did not move.

It's as though they maintain their positions relative to the end of a changing event rather than the beginning.

It would also be useful if the Help screens or pdf Manual explained how rippling worked.
