Updated to build 636 for Vegas Pro 19 and mp4 files do not play video

I updated to build 636 for VEGAS PRO 19 and edited an mp4 file in a project. All worked OK. When I opened VEGAS 19 again to render the project, only audio plays & video does not play. Tried other projects with mp4 files that I did in the previous version of VEGAS PRO 19 & none of them load the video correctly in the timeline or play the video. It looks like part of the video shows in the timeline and it shows to the very end of the project, but only the beginning part of the video shows or just a few frames. Audio plays fine, but no video shows at all in the playback window no mater where I try to play it or put the cursor. Just black shows. I reinstalled the software & still same issue. I restarted many times, but when I play the timeline, all I get is audio. The mute is not on. I'm using Windows 10. I do not know why it initially worked & now nothing plays back with video. The previous version of VEGAS PRO 19 played the timeline fine & rendered OK. Problem occurs now only with the new build 636. I never had problems with video playing my mp4 files in the previous version. Some mp4 files will play video in 636, but my previous projects will not and these all worked fine in build 532. I don't know why the first file I did worked & now it does not. I guess all I can do is reload the older version till I can figure out what is going wrong in build 636. Any help would be appreciated!

Most logic is that something in loading Vpro 19 b 636 has changed.
Installing and reïnstalling does not help, but most a reset of the program does if you follow exactly this: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-reset-vegas-pro-to-default-settings--104646/.

It may be that the settings were reset in 636 and a setting you needed in 550 was changed. For example in file i/o is legacy HEVC checked? You can try unchecking it and test the file again. Or vice-versa. Or legacy AVC, etc.

Feel free to share screenshots of your settings as well (preferences/video, preferences/file io)

Thanks so much for the help. I tried resetting VEGAS PRO 19 to default, but still had the same issue. I believe it was just a few of these files that the new version did not like. Once or twice I got one to play video, but it constantly would break up. I tried a bunch of other mp4's and they worked fine. For some strange reason a few would not play the video almost all of the time. These did work fine in the previous build. So it's one of those fluky things I guess. I think I'll be OK now. I did some tests and all seemed to work OK. Thanks again for the help!

Try MediaInfo to see the differences between the media that plays and that doesn't.

I have the same problem with the MP4 and worse. I download a file from the card of my Sony camera and every thing was ok, I trimmed it and did other things... when I finished I render as MP4, save it, close everything and then open again Vegas Pro 19 and the same file that the program render MP4 will not show the video, only the audio!!!!

Install first the latest build 643 and try again.
