I'm hoping you're right. Last year, I bought the upgrade for the $250 price first day. Then a day to two later, I got the special offer e-mail for $200. Yes, I got the $50 back, but it would have been simpler had they sent out the e-mails so as to coincide with the release.

Go figure.

This year, I'll wait for the e-mail.

Yes, there is a special offer that will be sent out in batches over the next few days. I will get all the details of that posted in the knowledge base this morning, so just try to wait another few hours. I will make a post in the forum when the special offer links are available.

Oh no - I just did the $250 thing ....

Ah well, it'll all come back eventually. I trust.

To avoid all this extra work, all Sony need do is put a note "special offer for early upgraders being sent out .. " or something similar. Because the price came back from $299 to $249 I assumed that was it ....

Brian, thank you! Looking forward to it!

Some people (like me) paid, in the last few months, $176 (with european VAT) for upgrading from V4 to V5, AND $176 for ConnectHD. Why should I pay AGAIN $176 for another upgrade? (wich includes the HD capability that I already paid for?). That totals $528, just for upgrades, in 4 months!

Any answer to this?

Costis, You'll be getting lots of other improvements and features too, not just HD improvements. Nobody's forcing you to upgrade. If you don't think it's worth the money then don't do it.
