I just got my promo e-mail

They must have been listening to us... :-)

I was over charged $50.95. I paid $249.95 and the promo price is $199.00. So I've requested they make the $50.95 adjustment on my vredit card.

Best of luck with that! It sounds like exactly the sort of situation I want to avoid, so thanks for the heads up. I guess Sony are now sending out many hundreds of emails - so I guess mine is on the way. Waiting.

Waiting...

Waiting...

When I click on the link in the e-mail for the Vegas + DVD upgrade it still says $249. Where is the $199 link?
Jay Gladwell wrote on 4/19/2004, 10:37 AM
Click on the link that reads "Upgrade to Vegas+DVD Production Suite for $249" which takes you to a Products page on their site that shows Vegas+DVD Production Suite and at the bottom of the page it shows "Staring at: $199.00".

Same to me now. I bought the Vegas+DVD upgrade just an hour ago for 249 dollar plus EU tax. Just two minutes ago I received the promo mail where same upgrade is offered for only 199 dollars.

Only if you didn't register. The e-mails are slow getting out.

You know, I got that e-mail you sent me but the Vegas 4 (no DVDA) to V5+DVDA link just sends you to the V4+DVDA upgrade page. :(

That hapened last year too with V3 to V4 upgrade for me.

Go to thread "Got no e-mail yet...?" and click on the link there.

If I click to buy the box version can I still download the D/L version? I would like the cake and eat it too :-)

Thanks,
Bill

Thanks - still no email here, but the link to the special upgrade price seems to work fine. Ta!

Hehe, I just asked this on another thread.

We shall see.

UPDATE - looks like the answer is no, unless you're happy to use the demo while you wait for the box - but no MPEG support or DVD burning with the demo.

I'm confused! There are two prices for the upgrade to Vegas+DVD Production Suite.

One is $199 and one is $249.

Does anyone know the difference (other than the $50)?

Thanks Jake

$199 until May 31, $249 thereafter.
TheHappyFriar wrote on 4/19/2004, 1:26 PM
$199 is for V4+DVDA 1 users to upgrade to V5+DVDA2.

$249 is for V4 (no DVDA) users to upgrade to V5+DVDA2.

And THIS trial of Vegas lets you render mpeg with no side effects! :) So, if you wanted, you COULD use the demo until the retail arrives! :)
