My brain is a little rusty on how to produce this wedding video, as I've been given video files in the listed aspect ratios. I would greatly appreciate some suggestions as to how to set up my project properties to accommodate these jumbled up ratios I need to combine. Resolution is all the same at least at 720 x 480 on all three.
Thanks Mr. T. I've decided 16 x 9. Most of the wedding was shot in 4:3. I know how to adjust the crop/aspect in each clip, however will I manually have to apply this to each clip or is there a way to put all the 4:3 clips on a track and adjust them using the track motion?
You could adjust Pan / Crop characteristics of one clip. Select it, right-click and copy. Then use the CTRL key to select similar clips. Right-Click and select Paste Event Attribute.
As per above BUT if you've got a variety of aspect ratios I've found it much easier if you put each variant on its own track. Doing it this way makes it easier to select all the clips for the "Paste Attributes" trick.
It is! But it's often a good start. It's quite likely that there will be far less work reviewing the clips and adjusting bad crops than starting each even uncropped and cropping one at a time.
Of course, this presumes that there will be a step in which each clip's cropping is reviewed.
