V20 instant crash with any of the Ignite color grading FX

Mindmatter wrote on 10/6/2023, 5:08 AM

HI all

I'm working on an XAVCI 10bit 4k project from my sony FX3. As soon as I click on any of the Ignite color grading FX V20 freezes or disappears instantly. I can't remember that happening ever before, I use those FX a lot.

Having said that, V20 crashes A LOT on this project, even without the Ignite FX issue. And it's just one track with some clips having Colorfast 2 in them.

Latest Nvidia 3070 studio driver, v20 built 411

Any ideas?

Thanks!

When I had that error, it turned out to be a failed Windows update, and rolling back to a previous image fixed it. Of course, there are other causes, but it's worth keeping in mind.

Did Vegas always crash when using Ignite FX? You mention you are using the latest Studio driver, did it work before?

All the other Ignite FX work. It didn't use to crash, I dunno what changed. I actually updated the Nvidia driver to see if it would resolve the issue, it didn't.

Windows has had updates. Which Ignite fx caused the crash? I have Ignite Pro 5, and Vegas Effects.

all those under the "color grading" name. Not sure what package they came with, probably Hitfilm.

I have Ignite Pro 5. If you are using Ignite Pro 4 that doesn't have the ".1", it will not work with Vegas. Also, none of the old Express filters will work. Only Ignite Pro 4.1 onward.

From @Dexcon, "For VP17 onwards, you need to have Ignite Pro version 4.1 or later installed - earlier versions of Ignite Pro prior to 4.1 only work in Vegas Pro versions up to VP16."

All I can say is I used it it with V19 and 20 until it recently just stopped working. I'll check exactly what version I have.

Your error report doesn't mention any plugins. Have you tried a Vegas reset?
