Well done Shermie! ! !

"Won't be going to Photo Shop as much." - oh yes you will! . . but you will be doing it to experiment the look you want to use within Vegas . .NOW the real fun starts . . by experimenting in PS or for me PsP I can start figuring out layers and layers upon layers to then kinda replicate within Vegas.

At present we can import PS layers for DVDA buttons and the like - I wonder how far off we are from full blown layer alteration/adjust as per PS and PsP BUT from within Vegas .. now THAT is what I'd like to see .. . and then maybe linking the alteration layers to beat markers from some music/audio .. see?

Well done Shermie! ! !

Now try "Carboncillo" on any text . .and then you WILL see what I've been banging on about .. "The Angels ARE in the detail!"

Thanks for the tip on dragging the pre-set chain to the timeline. Who would have thought that was possible even when the dragged icon had a standard circle with a line within it (thus indicating that the target surface would not accept the drag action...)

Have a good day...

I don't think we are looking at the same things here, are we? I have previously tried out the FX packages which I must agree are truly awesome but here I was trying to apply the media generator packages which all have the prefix JMH (Media Generators) and then such titles as:

Bar Blue
Frame Art
FrameBar Blue

etc

Anyway, I have worked out how to apply them now...

1. Right click on a video track and insert generated media (eg solid background)
2. Right click the generated media and select 'Edit generated media'
3. On the Video Media Generator window, click on the 'Replace plug-in' icon
4. Navigate to the Media Generator Packages, select one of the choices, such as JMH (Media Generators) Frame Cartoon and then click 'add'

Hey presto - a nice Bugs Bunny-style 'That's All Folks!' frame is applied.

The others are nicely done for various frames and starting points for lower thirds etc.

I couldn't work out a way to drag these directly onto the timeline - but my brain is a bit addled from the first day back at work after the holidays, no doubt!

Cheers

Aha! Marvellous - thanks - I don't normally have the Plug-In manager open so thanks for that.

Cheers

You mean like Final Cut Pro has been able to do since version 1? Yeah, I'd like to see that in Vegas too. Not quite sure what the holdup is, but since they got this functionality into DVDA as of the last version, there shouldn't be too much reason for them not to integrate it into Vegas in a future version.
