Vegas 10 won't run

robert-m wrote on 1/11/2017, 10:32 AM

I am running Windows 10. Haven't tried VMS10 since I upgraded from Windows 7. I get an error that say "Microsoft.NET runtime could not be initialized." After clicking OK, I get an error that says Error - 0x80131700 (message missing) I tried the troubleshooting routine, running in Windows 7 mode gave me the same errors. Thanks for any help.

But also see section 6 of this post, which sounds like it might be more helpful with your situation: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-why-can-t-i-install-vegas-pro--104783/

Thanks, Nick, it looked to me like uninstalling and a fresh install was the easiest way to get the version of Microsoft.NET I needed onto my computer. Then it locked up trying to load my line6.dll. I rarely use it, so I deleted it, and all of my MANY dlls loaded just fine. I tried doing a simple project with VMS and it all worked fine, project done. Thanks for the help, I am sure I will upgrade at some point. How long will the upgrade offer be available?

What does line6.dll do?

If you're talking about the "exclusive welcome offer" for 13 + 14 it's already 10 days past the published 4th January end date, so I suppose it could finish at any time. After that's finished I expect there will always be some ongoing discount for users of previous versions which you should be able to get by submitting your existing product's serial number here or emailing it to the service team at upgrade@vegascreativesoftware.com
