ProType Titler, RIP. The following was all done in the new Sony Text generator - in a familiar user interface. I also see there's a new Credit Roll - haven't had time to fiddle with it yet.
1. No, you do not have to "purchase" to use it in Vegas Pro 11. You do have to have the serial number included in your Vegas Pro 11 purchase to install it.
2. The watermark will appear in Vegas Pro 10 - even after entering the serial number during the installation process. Vegas Pro 11 will not show a watermark.
Regarding the new text generator; when I changed the font size it didn't show the change on my monitor. When I tried to close the dialogue it crashed Vegas (Vegas has stopped working...) with Vegas being the fault module. I reopened and tried it again, it didn't crash but I still can't change the font from the default Verdana size 48 to anything else.
That said, it'll be nice once the bug is worked out.
Another thing worth mentioning, there is no warning when saving a project done in the trial version...it just won't open in VP10. I kind of expected this but some people may get pretty upset without the warning from Vegas.
Can't understand why they would have a watermark in V10. A watermark is normally an incentive to upgrade to something, but you've already done that by buying V11.
>>>I forgot how many Vegas users are hobbyists that get excited about goofy titlers.<<<
. . . not that I'm suggesting they use Vegas titlers, but would you say the people who create the title segments for, say, Britain/America/Romania's Got Talent and a hundred other such shows, commercial spots for carpet stores and car showrooms, pretty much every Discovery show, hell, just about everything you see on TV, would you say they are hobbysists because they produce titles that are as goofy as those you can produce with Vegas's goofy titlers?
Not that I am personally a big fan of whizzing, extruded, flashing, bouncing etc titles . . . but it isn't just hobbyists that have use of such tools.
