Vegas 12 is corrupting my audio! Strangeness!

I have several projects that were created in v11. When opening in v12 I get corrupted WAV files, meaning they have brief bursts of white noise, or even blasts of audio from other WAVs. I can see the white noise in the waveform, and when I open the offending WAVs in SF it's there as well. Typically, all the WAVs are on a separate drive from my OS and Vegas install. Here's the strange part: when I move the project and WAVs to my C Drive the problem goes away. This is happening in both 32 and 64 bit versions.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I've had this problem when I try to edit using USB drives on my desktop system. Editing on my internal raid, or other internal drive solves the problem. Someone just posted about the same problem at DV info net Vegas forum. Note: Editing on a USB drive with my laptop works ok.

Here's one flavor from large USB drives.

Did the wav files happen to be on a drive larger than 2TB? Problems have been reported with wav files on disks of capacity larger that 2TB.

The corruption occurs when the files are on any drive other than the C drive. When I drop everything on the C drive it works fine...

You might try install an internal secondary drive directly to the motherboard. I've never had issues with those and nowadays you can get some pretty large SSD drives for reasonable.
