Vegas 12 stops working, even after re-installing most recent version

v. 12 always worked in the past but now stops working during startup.  I downloaded the most recent update, and when it begins to start up, at the same point, "...creating video plugin factory.." Vegas Pro stops working and the message again appears

Computer is an HP Pavilion with Core Duo processor running Windows 10 64-bit and ATI Radeon graphics card.  Can you help?  I'm in the middle of an important project, like everyone else.

Did you install any new plug-in before it started happening? If so, try uninstalling it and see if that fixes the problem.
