Vegas 13 Activation

Given the trouble I'm having with Vegas 14 does anyone know how Vegas 13 activation is being done? Are Sony still dealing with it or has Magix taken over? Will Vegas 13 work without periodic connection to the internet? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. Vegas 14 was supposed to work without periodic connection as well...
