I am new new to Vegas. I have VP15 Suite and wanted to know if you can sync multiple video clips without having to buy 3rd party software for multicam editing. I have a consumer editor where I can sync up to 6 videos and 2 audio tracks with a click o the button.
Try enabling the multicam audio sync feature in VP15 and see if that helps you. This may also be the reason Plural Eyes is not supported in VP15.
I've enabled it, but no luck. Created a mulitcam project from two tracks, and nothing. This is where it would logically happen. Apparently, the reason it's in the hidden preferences. Thanks for the effort.
It works here. First you have to select the events you want synchronized, then go here
Once they are synced, then you create the multicam track.
Well, all is not quite ok yet. I have 14 and 15. I ran RED link software, see RogerS comment/link above and installed/upgraded to the latest version. It appeared and ran ok in v14, nothing in v15.
I then followed XBerk's suggestion for using in v15 and it now works, thanks XBerk. So Reds current download for me didn’t work straight away for v15, yet Martin L had no difficulty, weird.
Maybe when the installer sees v14 it just does that and doesn’t go further, if v15 only was on PC then perhaps it installs correctly to it.
New to VPro (from a decade using Final Cut Pro 7). Audio sync is working nicely for me. Not missing PE at the moment.
Thanks for all the help with syncing multicam projects. I would think that audio sync would be enabled by default, but it isn't. If it wasn't for the explanation of the Preferences where it is FALSE, I would have never known.
RogerS .. You don't need VP14 or any other version of Vegas to run PE4 (Vegas version) in VP15. Install your PE4. Find the file C:\Program Files\Red Giant\PluralEyes4\PE4VegasLoader14.dll -- If you have VP15 installed, copy PE4VegasLoader14.dll to this folder C:\ProgramData\Vegas Pro\15.0\Application Extensions .. That did it for me.
BTW, I submitted a ticket to Red Giant support on Dec 2nd asking for the files that would allow PE4 Vegas Version to work under VP15. To date, I have not heard back from Red Giant.
I just did a "live chat" with Red Giant support and they have promised to send me the files in 10-15 minutes. Here's what they said "... What it is placing the same PluralEyes 4 panel from the previous version of Vegas to the new one, which should be a pretty quick process."
Just to close this loop. Red Giant sent me a copy of the file PE4VegasLoader14.dll and told me to place it in the folder C:\ProgramData\Vegas Pro\15.0\Application Extensions .. So PE4 seem to work under VP15 but is not being sold by Red Giant for VP15.
I don't know if this is helpful. I have noticed that on two machines that I initially had installed VP14, the extension appeared in options for my installations of VP15/16/17, as it was already in the extensions folder. But in a new machine on which I only installed VP15 and VP17, I had to manually copy the DLL file in.
Tip for anyone with a Plural Eyes 4 license. Version 4.1.11 was just released on the 8th of July 2020.
Initially I ran the Red Giant Link app that checks for Red Giant software updates on your computer, but it did not pick up the new Plural Eyes (Shooter Suite) update. I just assumed there was something wrong with the app, so I logged into my Red Giant account and re-downloaded the latest version of Shooter Suite.
During the install, it installed a new Manager App now called Red Giant Application Manager. The new app does pick updates correctly. Everything is working OK in Vegas Pro.
I don't know why they encourage us to install Offload even though we haven't paid for it. It's a file management tool that is sold separately (does imports and backups of video files). You don't need it. https://www.redgiant.com/products/shooter-offload/
@Dr Zen Thanks for that. Any idea what the "Offload" item is, is it ok to uninstall it, it says not licensed anyway ?
It's a file management app for downloading video from your camera (as far as I am aware). After posting my message here yesterday, I uninstalled the Offload app, since I do not have a license for it. https://www.redgiant.com/products/shooter-offload/
Update: 24 hours later I decided to clean up my Red Giant program files, because there seemed to be some duplicates of the same software left behind from the old management app. I ended up in a real mess, so decided to uninstall all Red Giant software and started fresh. I also ran CCleaner to remove old crap from Windows Registry.
Re-installing Shooter Suite 13.1.14 Installer.exe (latest version in July 2020) and everything is back to normal with Plural Eyes and Vegas Pro.
