The actual process works for me, however it gets it wrong ( using 3 tracks ) - every time. It synced up my 2 camera tracks ( A and B cam ) - but when I added the mastered recording to it - it messed it all up and none of them were synced.

Well, I guess there is a reason why it is still a hidden feature.

I did finally hear back from RG support. They sent a file that was to be placed under \Programdata\Vegas Pro\Application Extensions

A link to PE does how under extensions now, but it's for PE 4. As luck would have it, I only have 3.5. Oh well, maybe someone out there with 4 or later will have some luck.

Try enabling the multicam audio sync feature in VP15 and see if that helps you. This may also be the reason Plural Eyes is not supported in VP15.

I've enabled it, but no luck. Created a mulitcam project from two tracks, and nothing. This is where it would logically happen. Apparently, the reason it's in the hidden preferences. Thanks for the effort.

It works here. First you have to select the events you want synchronized, then go here

Once they are synced, then you create the multicam track.

None of this shows up in v15 build 216.

Just syncing to audio is too simplified, with varying camera to source distance it gets required to allow add distance offset time to audio track. ie. to move the audiotrack forward a specified number of milliseconds, integers are probably ok. Even with a single camera that may be required. Also, once tracks are positioned correct a LOCK IN TIME rather than a total track lock needs to be possible.

From Red Giant PluralEyes Support:

While PluralEyes 4 is not technically compatible with Vegas Pro 15, there is a workaround that many of users have employed that have allowed them to use PluralEyes in their Vegas workflow.

  • Close Vegas 15
  • Unzip the attached folder with the Vegas 14 extension
  • Place the folder under C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\15.0
  • Relaunch Vegas 15

I appreciate the post. Unfortunately, I only have 3.5, and the old 2.0 plugin. The latter works like a champ in VP13. I can't justify the upgrade, as this is not the only problem I've had with 15. It is however, one of several reasons I've gone back to 13.

This fix from Red Giant will allow PE4 to run under Vegas Pro 15. Since Red Giant is sending this out as a fix, I feel they would not object to the following quick fix. I have not tested it extensively but it seems to work. If you have PE4 installed, I think all you need to do is copy the folder "Application Extensions" from C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\14.0 to C:\ProgramData\VEGAS Pro\15.0..this places the "PE4VegasLoader14.dll" into the path for Vegas Pro 15. You can rename the DLL to "PE4VegasLoader15.dll" but it seems to work without renaming it. As I said, I have not extensively tested this. Use at your own risk.

This is good to know. Well, as I just got PE 4 (today's the Red Giant sale) but don't have Vegas 14 I guess I have to wait for them to respond to my support request to get the files.

Norbert wrote on 12/6/2017, 8:14 AM

Sync everything in Vegas 14 then Copy all your events and paste them into Vegas 15

RogerS wrote on 12/6/2017, 10:00 AM

I'd think it would be faster to just open the synced Vegas 14 project in 15! I've been doing that with 3.5 and Vegas 12 but really don't want to use 12 anymore.

xberk wrote on 12/6/2017, 10:56 AM

RogerS .. You don't need VP14 or any other version of Vegas to run PE4 (Vegas version) in VP15. Install your PE4. Find the file C:\Program Files\Red Giant\PluralEyes4\PE4VegasLoader14.dll -- If you have VP15 installed, copy PE4VegasLoader14.dll to this folder C:\ProgramData\Vegas Pro\15.0\Application Extensions .. That did it for me.

BTW, I submitted a ticket to Red Giant support on Dec 2nd asking for the files that would allow PE4 Vegas Version to work under VP15. To date, I have not heard back from Red Giant.

I just did a "live chat" with Red Giant support and they have promised to send me the files in 10-15 minutes. Here's what they said "... What it is placing the same PluralEyes 4 panel from the previous version of Vegas to the new one, which should be a pretty quick process."

Just to close this loop. Red Giant sent me a copy of the file PE4VegasLoader14.dll and told me to place it in the folder C:\ProgramData\Vegas Pro\15.0\Application Extensions .. So PE4 seem to work under VP15 but is not being sold by Red Giant for VP15.

Hi xberk!
I just installed PE 4 (Vegas 15 is already installed.) I went to the folder you suggested and... the extension is already there: PE4VegasLoader14.dll So without doing anything it seems to work in Vegas 15!? Maybe they did a silent update on their end. I'll test it out but all seems fine, which is great news for all of us.

xberk wrote on 12/7/2017, 4:33 PM

Interesting. So it seems Red Giant will not say it is supporting VP15 but it seems it is applying the fix it recommends to the latest sales/downloads of PE4. Must be some reason for this approach.

Hi Old Smoke! Where do you see those settings? I don't have them in my preferences menu. The tag Internal doesn't appear at all.

Thanks vkmast. I saw it now...

I desperately need audio sync in my two upcoming projects. So plural eyes could work with the work around?

Martin L wrote on 12/12/2017, 6:42 AM

I got it switched on and tried it, but it doesn't work at all. Strange feature. It's hidden and it doesn't work.

RogerS wrote on 12/12/2017, 8:36 AM

Yes, try pluraleyes 4. You can demo it too I think.

Martin L wrote on 12/12/2017, 8:55 AM

Yea, I did. Downladed the latest version and installed it as demo. The extensions installed in the VP15 folder by itself and it worked straight out after restarting Vegas. I applied it on a Vegas timeline with 150 GB of conference HD mp4 and 2.7K GoPro Protune footage from four different cameras on four tracks and after 45-50 minutes all was synced. It's a 14 day trial so I will get plenty of time to try it out.

Well, all is not quite ok yet. I have 14 and 15. I ran RED link software, see RogerS comment/link above and installed/upgraded to the latest version. It appeared and ran ok in v14, nothing in v15.

I then followed XBerk's suggestion for using in v15 and it now works, thanks XBerk. So Reds current download for me didn’t work straight away for v15, yet Martin L had no difficulty, weird.

Maybe when the installer sees v14 it just does that and doesn’t go further, if v15 only was on PC then perhaps it installs correctly to it.

RogerS wrote on 3/2/2018, 7:20 PM

For me an earlier update made folders for the extension for 14 and 15 even though I only have 15. It worked fine. The upgrade went fine, too.

Former user wrote on 3/3/2018, 5:52 AM

The issue was on both PC and laptop, had v14 and v15 on both, didn’t install to v15 on either system.
