Vegas 15 is very disappointing - 14 seems to be a lot better

I have just upgraded to Vegas Pro 15 and I'm disappointed for the following reasons:

  • Preview misses or jumps through transitions - in Vegas 14 it works fine.
  • The Zoom effect I use a lot has the letters FX across it and is unuseable (all versions Vegas, New Blue, Hit Mix the lot) this appears to be the case with many other transitions too - they all work as they should with Vegas 14.
  • Rendering is is slower - in 14 it works fine

I have made no changes to my computer, why is the programme not up to the standards of 14 or am i doing something wrong?

When rendering with an Nvidia GPU supporting NVENC, Vegas 15 runs circles around 14. I encode 4K multicam at real time or faster, even with basic effects applied. I have not noticed any slowdown at all using CPU renders, either, so I'm not sure what you are talking about there. Care to provide some render times to support that claim? Maybe we can help isolate what the cause is on your system.

Which zoom effect do you speak of? It sounds like you are using an unlicensed plugin to do it (letters FX across it? sounds like a watermark).

The previews lagging is a bug introduced by the latest update. Magix says they are aware of it, have identified the memory leak that causes it, and are currently testing a fix for it to be released soon.

What effect exactly? It sounds like one that is version-locked to VP14.

Rendering is is slower - in 14 it works fine
