I did use boris RED with the sony's vegas pro versions since boris RED allows After Effects plug-ins , so via Boris RED , it was also possible to have some good number of AE plug-ins to be applied and working in vegas pro . Would be interesting to have above issue solved for magix vegas pro version users .
I have Red from many years ago and re-installed it today - it is quite a useful program I had sort of forgotten about (FX 10 also)
The result in VP18: same thing - it instantly flips the image vertically the moment it is added to the event as an FX. Also, the same thing in VP17. And in both cases, adding Red dramatically changes the color of the event's image. Re the flip, at least its easy enough to flip it back via R clicking the event and select Properties/Rotation (180 degrees) - even though that is a nuisance.
I am not going to hold my breath waiting for an update from either BorisFX or Vegas to rectify this problem which relates to a legacy product last updated some 6 years ago.
One other thing - Red can be used as a standalone and the work exported; the downside being that export options are limited and positively ancient by today's expectations.

@Dexcon It is not as convenient as applying Red to event FX, track FX. 😯
@Dexcon Boris Red is even more convenient than VEGAS Effects! Red can be add to all FX positions but VEGAS Effects can only export project to VEGAS Pro, that's too restrictive. 😫
@rock-c ... oddly enough, exactly the same issue was recently raised on BorisFX's forum using exactly the same image examples. Please refer to the BorisFX's reply - which is rather what I expected:
