I saw that with 19 you can adjust the fisheye of videos from GoPro. However I do not see this and the help in Vegas Pro 19 is for version 18 which is weird. Anyone have some ideas on this?
Gotcha, VEGAS Effects is an After Effects style suite based on Hitfilm Pro that includes hundreds of additional effects not found in VEGAS Pro. It's part of the Post Suite.
thanks I might as I am not sure the upgrade to 19 is worth it. 18 had a few steps down from 17 and no changes in 19 for these and still no 5.1 render. I take it you have Post? :)
If you get post, it comes with 19 (as well as vegas effects, vegas image, and soundforge). Not sure what you mean about 18 being a few steps down from 17, it's based on 17's code, as is 19, they're all built on top of each other. I use Post myself.
one this that you can not render with MainConcepts in HEVC and they must have had some argument with Dolby so no render to video with surround sound. You can render video with surround sound in PowerDirector so a work around is to do post in Vegas and link to 5.1 using PD. I might take the plunge. Wish there was a trial for Post.
I think there is a trial for post. As for dolby, i think all NLEs cut off including their stuff for free. I know Resolve makes you pay for atmos. Dolby is notorious for being very expensive to license, and it's likely that too small of a number of people were using it to justify paying the license fee on every copy of VEGAS activated.
Have you tried this dolby digital wav to ac3 encoder as a workaround?
Well got the trial and tried effects. Looks like a learning curve which is fine, but I have a very nice lut for GoPro 9 and looks not so good in Effects. Will stick with VP19 for the time being.
Effects is meant to work alongside 19, not to replace it... you can import a VEGAS Effects project (.vegfx files) into VEGAS Pro, and it will treat it just like any other video clip imported in, you can drop it on the VEGAS Pro timeline and edit it, add effects to it, etc. and then render it out to make your final composition. So, you use the two in tandem to add capabilities onto what 19 can do.
That said, if 19 scratches that itch for you, then stick with it!
If you use Voukoder, maybe you can help. it does not show in Vegas 19. I downloaded all the recent files. I did bounce back and forth but when I did an edit in VP19 and then switched to Effect, the edits were gone.
Yes, effects works on the media in your project, so it isn't going to take effects or edits made in VEGAS into account. The round trip method is to right click on a media file in VEGAS, select "edit in VEGAS Effects", add the effects you want from there, and save your project. Go back into VEGAS, and apply any further edits you need before rendering it out.
Not sure what's up with Voukoder... maybe someone else can chime in about its compatibility with 19?
