Vegas 20 Keeps Crashing

Hello, I've tried both Vegas 20 and Vegas 18 by now. Both versions of the program, when I press render, it just stops responding. I have a decent pc (costed like 2k or smth), so i highly doubt the problem lies in the cpu or gpu itself. I have tried running in admin, and many of the solutions i found online, but none work. Could i get some help? Thank you!

What is the CPU and GPU? What media are you using?

Are you able to render one of the known-good sample projects in my signature?

CPU is AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core and GPU is MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus 2X 12G GeForce RTX 3060 12GB. I am rendering an animated project. I have tried changing media multiple times; none of it works, including what is in your signature. It usually goes: I press render -> Mouse turns into a circle -> Vegas says "Vegas Pro is working..." -> Vegas says "Vegas is taking longer than usual. Do you wish to terminate the program?" I have also tried rendering on multiple other versions of Vegas Pro. All of them do the same thing.

Something's very wrong if the sample projects don't work- the older of the two had 100+ users doing it from VP 16 to present. I have no reports of renders not working.

I'd try installing a recent NVIDIA Studio driver for the GPU.

When you terminate the program can you paste in the error message?

I actually updated the nvidia driver fairly recent, and the vegas is a fresh install, as ive done this multiple times now.

Reinstalls don't usually do much. Did you do a reset?

Then try one of the known good projects I provided and see if you can render.

Just tried this, doesn't seem to have worked unfortunately. I'm starting to think it has something to do with my bios settings now since this is a custom built PC.

seems it worked on some version of vegas 17 i had? and i just freshly installed a new purchas of vegas 365 and it has the same issue the others had.... im sorry, i don't know whats going on here

Thank you Roger for all the help; i think i found the issue. Seems some Windows 11 update was extremely buggy and caused some things not to work. This includes lowering fan speeds, random keyboard/headphones disconnects, causing rendering to crash programs. etc. I rolled my updates back a bit and it seems to have magically worked.

Yikes, that's some update! Never heard of software messing up even fan speeds. Anyway glad you got it figured out as that's a bizarre set of issues.
