Vegas 22 instability

Travis-Thoms wrote on 1/20/2025, 12:37 PM

I've started using Vegas 22 form 18 over the past couple of weeks, and I'm finding it to be very unstable, freezing or crashing every 5 to 10 minutes. Sometimes it crashes when loading the project. Sometimes, when moving video along the timeline, or just moving the mouse. Usually, it crashes so hard, an error report screen won't show up.

Hardware: Ryzen R7 2700, AMD W5500 48 GB memory

Since VP22 is quite different than VP18, it might be a good idea to start VP22 with default settings so that no settings are copied from VP18.

I went to options-preferences, set it to default. Shortly afterwards, I scrolled down to select a cut, and the program shut down.

I know it's a pain, but have you tried bringing in the assets one at a time to see when/where things go bad?

I'll give it a try. There's about 60 files.

All it takes is one problematic file to mess everything up. And with so many different sources and codecs, that can be a recipe for some issue.
