'vegas hub' not working properly

poli-keting wrote on 12/12/2024, 8:25 AM

When you click on the video in 'vegas hub', it just loads infinitely. I am subscribing to 'Vegas 365' to use 'vegas hub', but if the function does not work properly, what on earth am I maintaining the subscription system for? The server is unstable every day, with frequent logouts and loading cycles. I am very angry. Is there a way to solve this?

This is also happening to me with Hub. You can search this forum and see this problem exists with other users. No solution has been given. I contacted support on Monday, as of this post i have not received anything back. If you look up my post on this issue that I put up less than a week ago I included a video of my problems with hub.

Hope this gets fixed. One user says the web is slow this time of year. Another says he can download if he clicks the little arrow in the hub preview where it says download to timeline. That solution only works for me for some of the hub videos. Some will download and some videos will not.

At this moment, the HUB is working for me.

I too have the 365 subscription. But I guess I have more patience with things in life that don't work right away as they should.

Sometimes, things don't work, and it is temporary. @poli-keting what specifically are you looking for? I don't use the HUB to search, but Storyblocks. It's much faster and easier. Then I use the HUB search to get what I want.

It doesn't work for me either, the same problem. The second time this year non-functional for many days

Reyfox wrote on 12/16/2024, 5:42 AM

I can only speak for myself. I just logged into the HUB and it is working. At first the spinning 3 dots. Seemed to have taken too long, so I excited and logged back in. There it is.

Things happen. Internet goes down, loss of energy, etc.. That's life. Nothing is perfect and 100%. Whenever I needed the Hub, I've been able to access and download. Now, there is that issue with sending what I want to the timeline, but the download does wind up in the Project Media, so an extra step, but I can still continue to edit.

You can search this forum and see this problem exists with other users. No solution has been given.

One Solution was posted here just a couple of days ago:

https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vegas-hub-can-t-access-downloads--147261/#ca930786

During the Holiday Season, the best Solution for internet congestion is often to just wait . . .

It may be caused by seasonal congestion on the AWS trunk from Europe.

Symptoms identical to yours have been reported here annually since 2018, when Vegas Hub was introduced.

All major carriers, including the US telecoms, throttle back consumer-tier downloads and entertainment traffic first, ensuring a clean pipeline for essential business and global data.

The effect on worldwide internet traffic is the same principle as rolling power blackouts; good service in some areas, with no service in adjacent locales

In 2018, I ran some extensive pinghop tests between Denver, CO USA and the AWS GMBH servers in Germany that Magix Vegas uses. The number of backbone hops, normally 6 or less taking about one second during normal conditions, bumps up to 30 during Holiday daytime hours, and then the connection is broken and we must "dial" Magix again.

UHD video downloads, such as those available from Vegas Hub, are gargantuan in size compared to what we normally see on Youtube and social media, and those 100GB downloads are the first thing to get chopped, along with Netflix and online gaming.

Hope this helps; it is one of several possible scenarios for your question, but the coincidental timing with worldwide holiday traffic can't be ruled out, or wished away, at least until February.

Welcome to the discussions!

My hub is still not working. Has not been fully working for over a week. I emailed support about this matter last Monday I still have no response from them. The solution offered to download hub content by clicking on the download to timeline icon only works for me part of the time. Some clips will download to my timeline, and others I can click and keep clicking and nothing happens. It does not download into my Vegas Content downloads.

I think we all understand that problems occur with the internet and software, but a company that has their customers interest first would put out a email, or post on the forum that hub is experiencing problems and is being worked on. This problem just did not start, it has been on going for awhile now.

I am not looking for anything free, or illegal. I paid extra for Vegas Pro Suite 22, 365 and one of the main reasons was for Hub so I don't have to deal with sites like YouTube' s copy infringement rights policies. Almost anything I download from YouTube ( Backgrounds, music ) and put into my projects puts a copyright infringement on my YouTube channel. And my channel is private just for family members. I could sign up for a membership for Storyblocks or sites like that, but I thought Vegas Hub was going to fulfill my needs with royalty free content. One solution offered is to wait until internet congestion is slowed down? So am I supposed to get up in the middle of the night to download content? Or try to figure out when internet congestion worldwide is at its lowest peak for the day or week to download from Hub.

Magix, just communicate with your customers.

I confirm. The Vegas hub is in a bad state recently. It always had it quirks sometimes, but it is particularly bad lately. Maybe a victim of its success? Or story blocks are traffic shaping to limit the bandwidth for Vegas licensed users, prioritizing their own paying customers. Or the Magix/Vegas servers need to upscale/upgrade, who knows what the reason is.

@Sassylola I have not tried it, but could using a different country or region perhaps help (via a VPN) ?

Dec 29, 2024... same issue as with others.

Very hit-and-miss even when logging out/in. And my overall download speed is 200-300 Mps (I can download huge Native Instruments full Kontakt VST and Steinberg Cubase Pro content without a problem). I live in the Los Angeles, CA area = not some slowed down rural network issue.

So I'm marking footage I can't download at this point as Favorites for now, but here is what shows up.
Not useful at all...

While not new to Vegas (first version was v. 6), new to Hub since I never had a use for it until now. So pardon perhaps already-answered question:

Is there a way to access the Hub content as one would for Storyblocks - such as directly through Chrome via some URL instead of the in-Vegas way?

My guess not, but figured I'd ask.

I'll find what I want and use the Search in the Hub. For me, the Hub is working fine.

After restarting PC, and Vegas Pro multiple times this is what shows in my Vegas Hub after running for 5 minutes. I just closed Vegas after that. And my internet is working I am posting this on the same PC that Vegas is on.

A few months ago I was having trouble with Hub and Magix support got back to me and forwarded my problem to the Hub team. Hub just started to work on its own after a few days. But this problem is still occurring for many.

I again contacted support over 3 weeks ago and received a email with suggestions that was AI generated to fix the problem with hub. If I answered NO to the suggestions that were offered somebody from support would get back to me. I answered NO. That was 3 weeks ago from yesterday with no response from Magix.

I am wondering if engineers and support have been pulled from the Vegas team by Magix to other projects? The reason I ask is this problem has been going on now long before the holidays and Magix has no response or a solution or an explanation on what is causing this to happen.

I guess we are at the mercy of Magix waiting for a fix or at least a explanation for something that does not work most of the time that we have PAID for.

It seems that they don't care that we pay for a service that doesn't work properly👎

Reyfox wrote on 1/12/2025, 12:58 PM

The Audio part of the Hub is working for me. As for Vegas not caring, well, do you know how things work? Could it possibly be a hosting server side issue? I don't know.

But right now, the video side of things isn't working for me. And it's the same hosting server that handles both.
