Vegas Image

I think this is the most overlooked aspect of the new Vegas Post bundle... from what I can gather, it appears to be a photoshop-esque program, however it apparently works by keeping the image in its raw format (which I assume means it adjusts the image's metadata much like Lightroom does, which if so, opens some cool possibillities!). If this is true, and Vegas Effects turns out to be feature-rich enough for me to be able to drop After Effects, this means I can also ditch Photoshop and Lightroom as well, which will effectively leave me with no reason to continue with this $50/month Adobe subscription.

Given that MAGIX and HitFilm are forming more of a relationship, I wonder if Vegas Effects will turn out to be a rebranded HitFilm Ignite or variation there upon. Only a few days to go for all to be revealed.

@Dexcon - I agree. Let’s see, again, if the ball has been dropped. If it’s something good then there’d be some knuckles being gnawed by BETA testers who’d be reading this.

@Grazie … you might be right. Check out a very recent post:

I'm sure that this was posted earlier today, but was taken down.

@fr0sty

I'm also curious about Vegas Image ( Ditched photoshop ages ago for Affinity Photo, which is actually better IMHO.) and Vegas Effects - particularly for 2.5 D photo "parallax" effects.

But... regarding Lightroom. What would you use for DAM / cataloging functions as a replacement?

I personally only use Lightroom to process timelapses, so the other stuff doesn't matter to me.

Dex, that image has been used in Vegas Post marketing before, it's not a leak. Trust me, if it were, it would have been removed a long time ago.
