Vegas Movie Studio 14

j-r7200 wrote on 1/4/2022, 8:48 PM

I have been working with Vegas Movie Studio 14 for years. A few days ago it just stopped working right in the middle of my editing a video. Most of the imported images just disappeared. It kept locking up and crashing. I did the "Factory Reset" thing. I clicked on the box to clear the cache etc.. I rebooted the program and it would work for a few minutes then lock up and crash again. I tried reinstalling an older version I had from years ago. It was Vegas Movie Studio version 11. That was a bad idea because it didn't work properly either. When I purchased my Vegas Movie Studio 12, 13 and 14, I didn't order the disk. Would it be possible to order the Movie Studio 14 disk? And if I reinstall Movie Studio 14 will it work? I haven't received any updates in awhile for MS14. Please help.

Would it be possible to order the Movie Studio 14 disk?

There's probably no need to even if the disk version were still available. If you go to your MAGIX My Account and go to the My Products listing, you should find all your Movie Studio purchases listed there along with their serial numbers and links to download the program installers.

And if I reinstall Movie Studio 14 will it work?

The only way to find out is to do an uninstall/re-install on your computer.

BTW, have there been any major changes to your computer around the time that the problem started? Check the 'View Update History' option on Windows Update page. Have you recently installed Windows 11?

I haven't received any updates in awhile for MS14.

Typically, updates for MS14 would have ended once MS15 was released. If you use the installer for MS14 from your MAGIX My Account, you should get the last build of that product.

I'm trying to navigate around the MAGIX website not am easy thing to do. All I want to do is locate the place where to find MY Account. I have changed my email address since my last purchase years ago. I think that is the problem and why I cannot find MY Account. Where do I go from here? Please help again.

Yes I can but that is NOT the email address I used years ago when I made most of my purchases.

wah... looks like the best way is to contact support, since the program registration is tied to account..., so the registration data needs to be migrated (the best I can think from my side as a user)

You can try ask via live chat later when they are online - https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-can-i-get-help-and-support-for-vegas-pro--104781/ (no 6)
