Vegas no longer opening... help...

Hi there can you help me? Magix hasn't responded to my support request and it's been 2 weeks. I upgraded to Windows 11 and now my Vegas 17 won't open. I also tried to download a new version of Vegas Pro that says it works with Windows 11 but it won't open either. Any tips or tricks would be appreciated. Thank you.

Vegas works with Win11 so there's presumably something on your system that is causing a problem.

When you say it "won't open" how are you trying to open it and what happens? Any error messages?

Is it Vegas Pro 17 or Vegas Movie Studio 17?

Whichever it is, there are some troubleshooting tips in this post (it's quite old but most should still apply): https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-vegas-pro-won-t-start-what-can-i-do--104784/

I have Vegas movie studio platinum 17 installed on my PC and have used it many times to edit media and make content. I recently upgraded my processor AMD Ryzen so that my PC could run/operate windows 11. Also, I downloaded the latest trial version of Vegas Pro (which should run on Windows 11) but that will not open either. When I double click the desktop shortcut, or when I left click and choose "open" nothing happens. No error message. No pop up.

@tim-h5801hulsets Does other software start from their desktop icons?

Anyway try this;

Navigate to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\Movie Studio Platinum 17.0 folder. There scroll down to MovieStudioPlatinum170.exe, right click on Show more options and "Create shortcut". Move the shortcut to your desktop and try that to open.

Yes. I can open music maker and sound forge... and everything else on my desktop. Just not Vegas Movie Maker 17. Creating a new shortcut didn't work either. Thanks though.

Obviously something more serious is occurring. Try working through Nick's trouble shooting tips.
