Has anything changed on your PC since Vegas Pro last worked? Windows update? Graphics driver update?

Try holding <SHIFT>+<CTRL> when starting the program to reset Vegas to default settings. Be warned that this will remove all your settings.

That's the first time I've heard of that reset method failing. That advice is from here: https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2744/~/reset-software-to-default-settings

The only other way would be to uninstall Vegas, and manually clean up folders and registry settings afterwards, which is complex.

What version of Windows do you have?

If you really can't get that reset method to work, next I would troubleshoot in the following order, testing after each step to see if Vegas will start:

  1. A manual Windows Update
  2. Update your Intel graphics driver
  3. Uninstall Vegas
  4. Clean your registry with Ccleaner Free version. This comes with some risk so it is advised to back up your important data first, and preferably to take a full image backup of your system drive. Backup the registry when it prompts you and choose "fix all issues".
  5. Reinstall Vegas
  6. Submit a support request via http://support.magix.com/vegas , including as much detailed information about the problem as you can and what you have already tried to fix it.

Windows 8 pro Build 9200

i have tried the advice https://www.custcenter.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2744/~/reset-software-to-default-settings

And it says

Close the program. Now press CTRL+SHIFT while double-clicking on the program's icon to launch it. You should see a window that asks "Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?" Place a checkmark next to "Delete all cached application data" and then click Yes.

For older products, continue to hold the CTRL & SHIFT keys until the program is fully up and loaded.

i tried it, it comes out the window that asks "Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?"And i place a checkmark next to "Delete all cached application data" and then click Yes. After i did that, it crash again at initializing gpu-accelerated video processing.

i also tried to reinstall the vegas pro, and still won't works.
