Vegas Pro 14 keeps crashing

I recently "upgraded" from Vegas pro 13 to Vehas Pro 14. Unfortunately it has not been a happy experience. It takes ages for projects to load and the program keeps crashing. Never had this problem with Vegas Pro 13. Totally frustrating. As a result, I have reverted back to Vegas Pro 13 for a project that I was working on in Pro 14. Not one crash - it just works flawlessly.  The  "upgrade" seems to be a "downgrade". Very disappointing. Is there a problem with Pro 14 that it keeps crashing, whereas Pro 13 works fine on the same project material?

There are problems with memory handling that are discussed, amongst other places, in this thread: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/vp-14-win10-out-of-memory-problem--103767/

Are there plugins you use in the projects?

No, no plug ins. Exactly the same project plays flawlessly in Pro 13 - but 14 continually crsahes with the same project. So despite "upgrading", I now don't  bother with Pro 14 as it's a waste of time and money.

My renders crash all the time.  This program is worthless.  I never had these issues in VP13.  Majix had no business selling this piece of crap.

I just ran another render and it crashed with the following:

Problem Description
   Application Name:    VEGAS Pro
   Application Version: Version 14.0 (Build 161) 64-bit
   Problem:             Unmanaged Exception (0xc0000005)
   Fault Module:        C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0\RegModule_x64\mpeg2_x64.dll
   Fault Address:       0x00007FFBEFABF2CD
   Fault Offset:        0x000000000000F2CD

The program is getting an exception in the DLL.  This should be easy to fix.  They know the address where it happens.

I am having the same problem and it is frustrating! I am seriously considering going back to Vegas Pro 13 and ditching 14. It does not seem to like to work with iPhone 7 videos in 1080. I have a very small project that now doesn't even play anymore, it just freezes every time and I can't render it, either. It stays at 2% (sometimes 5, sometimes 8, etc) for hours. I wish I could find a solution.

Try rewrapping them from MOV to MP4. See this comment (and the one below it for a batch file): https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/intermittent-apple-quicktime-playback-issue--104830/#ca648027
