Vegas Pro 15 closes when selecting a mp4 file

Hi everyone,

First of all, thanks for your help and sorry for my broken english.

I've been working with Vegas Pro 15 for a long time with no problem, but suddenly, with no apparent reason why, when I slect an mp4 file to work with, the program closes with no error text or advertising. I can import every other file format, as avi or pictures, but when I pick an mp4 file the "thinking circle" appears and after two seconds the program closes.

I have googled and tried so many things, as erase compound file, install quick time, run as adminsitrator, uninstall and install, but no one have solved the issue.

I have to say that it's the second time it happens to me, but the first one it got solved as surprisingly as it had started. So, I guess this is something related to the installation of other video programs.

In addition to this, my mp4 files work on other programs, as videopad or obs, but not on vegas pro.

Windows 10, updated, everything ok on my computer. As I've said, everything is ok when I work on other video editors.

Please, can you tell me why Vegas closes just as selecting an mp4?

Thanks

Thanks, EricLNZ.

The problem ir that I can not open the file to see its mediainfo. As I've said, as fast as I click on the file to select it on the import windows, or as I drag it into Vegas (but the file doesn't past, just appears a "forbidden" signal), the program closes with no message.

The are fullHD (1920x1080), 9183 Kbps and 29.97 fps. Audio 191Kbps and 48.000 kHz

In addition, maybe it helps, when I open again Vegas it starts from zero, as if nothing has happened before.

Also, I've installed Vegas Movie Studio and it has the same problem. All other video editors I have work perfectly with those mp4 files.

Thanks

@Bartolom-VelaLara

The problem ir that I can not open the file to see its mediainfo.

Nowhere you have to open that file to find the MediaINfo.
It is a small free program that shows the properties, look here how to use it: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Solved!!

First I have unistalled all Vegas programs.

After that, I have unistalled all graphics Intel drivers, due to the fact that I have a Radeon video card (but actually, I can not remember if the problem started when I installed radeon drivers...) Anyway, I've did it.

I recognize that maybe it's a not proper way to do it, but I have got into regedit after unistall all vegas programs and erasd a lot of vegas imputs. Yes, it's a crazy way and risky, but it worked!! After reinstall Vegas I can open, drag, work and edit mp4 files.

Thanks for your attention and help. God bless you.
