Vegas Pro 15 Has Stopped Working. Constant crashing.

I did try the power standby setting for the video card, but left the drivers as is. I've tried many things, and I think I have hit on something. At least on my own system. My MSI motherboard has some options to tweak performance. It was in an enhanced mode, and I decided to try to reset everything to default. So far, fingers crossed, Vegas sessions have stayed open for hours, and no crashes while actually doing editing.

Interestingly, no other symptoms were occuring. No blue screens, and no other unexpected crashes of any other apps. And this includes apps like Handbrake, a video timecode app, and Davinci Resolve. Strange indeed.

One thing I didn't do is disable Intel graphics. This breaks the QSV renderer, and undoes one of the key reasons to use 15 in the first place. IMHO of course. I do find it hard to go back to the VP 13 bright background.

So far so good.

And status from here is that:

My MSI motherboard has always run in "normal" mode.

I installed the driver mentioned above and set the AMD GPU ULPS to off. Rebooted and thereafter 3 Vegas instances ran for days. Then I set the ULPS to on - rebooted the PC and thereafter the 3 Vegas instances still ran without problems - even if I also did some Vegas speed test (DynRAM settings to some 100 MB) besides the 3 instances.

So far the only thing that is sure is that something was done to Vegas between build 201 and 211 (see above and link to other post) which (might) have made Vegas sensible to some (possible) GPU diver issue at that time but which does not crash Vegas when using the driver I found above (whql-win10-catalyst-15.7.1-oct30.exe) but again which Nick Hope says might not be the "real" 15.7.1 driver...

I tried to roll back my C-disk 1 month in order to make tests with the driver that Vegas did not like - but that gave me some pesky UEFI double entries that I must sort out before going on with the tests...

Did this problem get solved?

@antoni-n

Download and install build 416 for Vegas Pro 15.

If your screen capture is anything like your error demo screen capture, it's variable frame rate by a wide margin. That's not going to work well in Vegas. Use a utility program like Handbrake or FFMPEG to convert VFR to constant frame rate.
