Its nice to have Nesting functionality inside VEGAS Pro 17. But its far from perfect & unreliable nesting system for now.
I create 4x4 sort of split screen to showcase 4 different food in the edit. So I nested all 4 videos. But after going back to my
Master Timeline, I have to set my preview quality to Best at Full to make it preview the edit in nested project properly, otherwise it will show 1 full video frame. Refer to the picture I've attached.
Also, Nesting the clips by creating another VEG project file so that we can work with multiple editors is nice, but I feel having an actual real nesting inside the master timeline is much better rather then filling up the folder with bunch of VEG project file. Toggling between Master/Nested project is also a bit slow. I wish (Which I assume maybe VEGAS Pro 20, not even VP18 or not gonna happen at all) have an option for editor to create nested sequence inside the master timeline or just nest it as VEG. Well, it just a suggestion.
Another thing, If I nested a clip with composition child in my layer, it will reset the layering inside the nested sequences. So I have to manually redo the composition child etc all over again. And, my VP17 tend to crash a lot more once I started to nesting the clip.
