Vegas Pro 18 crashes when attempting to rotate mp4 videos taken with

Videos taken with  android phone are  loaded sideways in Vegas 18. When attempting to rotate them, the program without fail crashes. I loaded and reloaded the software, adjusted Vegas configurations to no avail. Videos taken with dedicated video/photo cameras don't have the rotation issue - can be rotated at any angle. Handbrake, VLC and other players, load the videos correctly, i.e, do not require rotation. Please advise. Thanks.

How are you trying to rotate them?

Give us media info on one of your problem android files. Instructions here https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

Two ways, same crash problem:1. 90* in media directory and 2. in Event Pan/Crop.. I just observed that the videos that crashed were taken with Samsung Galaxy S 7. Videos that were taken at the same general time with Galaxy S8 allow rotation with no issues. (BTW, the same rotation issues persist in Vegas Pro 17.) Maybe prematurely, but my conclusion is that the videos that crash have a problems in the video formatting. Probably re-rendering them (in Handbrake or Vegas) will resolve the issue (even though it may affect the quality).

Thank you for responding to my earlier post.

Re=rendering the files positioned the video image correctly and rotation did not make the program crash.
