Vegas pro 18- how to render 4096 x 2160?

Ciprian-Caizar wrote on 2/5/2021, 2:25 AM

What template should to render a full 4k resolution 4096 x 2160 ?

There is no template for full 4 k 4096 x 2160 inside MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4 or inside MAGIX HVEC.

I need the final video to be .mp4

If I try to custom adjust the frame size to 4096 x 2160 the program will allow me to save the template but we can't find the created template to select that and use it. Why no full 4k export option here? Only 3840x2160 are available and I am allow to custom modify and save and rename.

Thank you!

I just tried the same custom saves with the 2 mentioned templates (AVC + HVEC) and got the same result - the custom templates don't appear even after closing down and re-opening VP18 b434. Custom templates should appear in the available templates list as they have done so in the past.

And I just tested a custom Sony AVC template save which I have saved successfully for many years in earlier VP versions/builds. VP18/434 doesn't display the saved Sony AVC custom template either.

@Ciprian-Caizar I tested this on VP18, 17 and 16. VP18 and VP17 no go. Templates are saved and visible in VP16, render is possible.

The test render templates that I had saved, but disappeared in 17 and 18 all re-appear in VP16.

This is really bad. Tested on MAGIX AVC/AAC MP4.

Confirmed here as well with both 17 and 18.

@Ciprian-Caizar Try setting your Project Properties to 8192x4320. It works now for me in VP17 and 18, the 4K DCI template is now visible. See this thread here.

Going forward, best to make up and save 8K project properties templates for future use, edit with your project properties set to 4K, then switch project properties to 8K to access the previously made 4K DCI render template prior to rendering. All said in the linked post.
