I'm having a couple issues, and it seems primarily that the program just cannot keep up with what I'm doing.
I have two video projects: one is just under 2 and a half minutes, the other is just over a minute.
The first project timeline is almost completely filled with cut clips. Effect wise, I have an instance of animated text, a couple of transitions, an overlay of one clip over another, and an instance of masking. I also have a handful of clips less than a second long each that are meant to play in rapid succession. If I'm lucky, I might get a single solid play-through when I first open the program. Most of the time, it lags, certain clips don't show, effects are delayed. I've pre-rendered it to see if that helps, but I still have this problem, in addition to the rapid succession clips disappearing entirely, and having a section of clips in the middle where the preview shows a stuttering instance of the very first clip instead of what's actually on the timeline.
My guess was that it was just too long of a project to go with so I started the second project. I'm still having problems.
In the second project, I haven't even fully filled the timeline with clips. I added the Sapphire effect Film Damage and the color effect Sepia to a clip that is 1.09sec. When I play the clip from 5 seconds before the effect, it appears, but there's a stutter of delay. If I play from the beginning of the timeline, the preview blacks out that clip most of the time, and the next clip appears delayed. Pre-rendering ends up with the same issue as with the first project: preview showing something it's not supposed to.
I don't mess with any of the settings when I start a new project - I leave them all at the default HD 1080-60i (1920x1080, 29.970 fps), and I've made sure the frame-rate of my clips matches the project settings. I've tried emptying my temp folders a couple times to no avail.
