Vegas Pro 18 (Vegas 365) "Not Responding" When importing files

Cayo-Fletcher-Smith wrote on 1/29/2021, 6:26 AM

Hello everyone, I'm having a bit of an issue with Vegas Pro 18.0 and it importing files.
Basically, whenever I drag and drop or open a file via the folder icon from within the Vegas it stops responding.

I was running Vegas 13 on a really under-specced computer and never had any issues like this, my current computer should be able to handle this without an issue so I think it's a settings issue or perhaps an issue with Windows 10 (as seems to always be the case, haha).
I've tried re-adjusting my RAM allocation, processor threads, and turned off GPU acceleration as suggested by the "people of the internet" but no luck.
The files I've tried to import have all been MP4 (If that's relevant), and I've only had an issue when trying to open said files.

If anyone has any ideas or advice, please help.

All the best
- Cayo

The following links show what I'm doing that makes it not respond. It also does this when I drag and drop files from the file browser in windows into the timeline on Vegas Pro 18.

EDIT: Now it's working on and off. So I'm not sure.
If it completely stops working again I'll repost here.

If anyone has any generic advice about preferences let me know.

Generic advice is to reset it all to defaults. Click help/driver update and update the GPU drivers, esp. the NVIDIA Studio Driver. Keep dynamic ram preview to 200MB or 0 if you have issues rendering.
