Greetings, I just installed Vegas Pro 21. In the preview, I have red arrow .PNG graphics pointing to exact spots. After I render, the graphic arrows are out of position just enough to look wrong. I make the .PNG graphics in photoshop. How do I fix this?

OK, so I weakened and signed up for Vegas Pro suite 21. Just trying the Smart Mask 2. Has anybody got it to work at all? I have followed the instructions, and it just does nothing. Love to hear that it's just me doing something wrong.

@Tony-Newman Possibly a mismatch of settings.

You've posted in a general thread. Suggest you start your own thread with your problem were it's more likely to get attention.

First make sure your photoshop image is the exact same resolution as the resolution setting specified in your project properties... i.e. 1920x1080.

@Cmin7669 thanks for the file. I have Vegas 21 B315 and my computer specs are in my Signature below.

I just finished importing your file into VP21. It took some time to do this. I had Task Manager open monitoring what was going on with the computer. It took over 3 minutes to build the audio peaks. Hard drive access was high. As long as that was happening, I sat a waited for everything to finish.

The file you sent up is a 12 track multi-language audio file, correct? After Vegas did it's thing to build the audio peaks, it took a few more moments for everything to appear on the timeline and play back fine. See screenshot below. But I can see how it can appear that Vegas has crashed initially.

I tried your file with Vegas Pro 21 b 315 on my laptop from signature.
It took a little time before something became visible after dragging to the timeline, but after that only a lot of soundtracks were filled, no video.
I than used Handbrake to confert the mkv file to an mp4 (avc) and dragged it to the timeline to use it without a problem.

@Cmin7669 My findings so far, Vegas can't load this video file and there's no short cut method in Vegas settings or remuxing/extracting to make it work, as comparision Capcut loads video and audio fine, Resolve loads audio only. After remuxing to .mov, Resolve loads video and audio and plays fine

edit: BREAKING NEWS, rewrapping to .mts makes the video and audio play in Vegas

@Cmin7669 no, remuxing is not re-encoding. remuxing only takes a minute. download shutter encoder, choose rewrap option and output to .mts

Working with Vegas-21 for a week or so, coming from Vegas-17.

Just discovered the Zoom function in the Video Preview tab. And MMB to Pan, and double click MMB to reset.
On top of that, a button to toggle spacebar function between Play/Pause and Play/Stop.
I LOVE IT !!!

So much to discover....

Only one suggestion for the future: Faster startup in case Vegas has been started before (and didn't crash during exit). A memory buffer on disk maybe? Anything to make that process faster.

Oh, I noticed something I wasn't expecting. When I dragged a video event from the timeline to the Trimmer, that didn't succeed. Dragging a video file from Win Explorer to the Trimmer did work. I guess dragging from the timeline to the Trimmer is not the usual route but should it be forbidden?

Doesn't work for me either but as you are probably aware you can right click on the timeline event and "Open in Trimmer" is at the top of the list.

If you R click on a video on the timeline, the top item in the context window that opens is 'Open in Trimmer'.

I just noticed that dragging the video event is not the intention. While that would actually be a quite logical approach. Especially if other dragging movements are allowed.

Could you please add support for 360° Cameras like from Insta360? I think Insta360 is big enough to support it. There's also a new camera called Insta 360 X4 with 8K

Ok so I am guessing Vegas Pro 21 does NOT support Insta 360 X4 at this time? I was wondering why the source files would not show up. Is there any work around or no? Thanks : )

VEGAS does support 360 video, just maybe not in that camera's native format. See if you can convert the video.

@pierre-k On another issue that you brought up, there was a thread that I can't find anymore where you showed a truck which played back in a stuttering fashion and had this very weird artifacting. I was going through various Vegas versions and I saw that happening in b314.

You may have thought like many that b315 is b314 with an AMD GPU fix, but it isn't, and I don't think that's been made obvious. Not to say you were using b314 and saying you were using b315 because you believed with an Nvidia GPU there should be no difference but if you were, that would explain things.
