Vegas Pro 21 green screen issue

joe-m1228 wrote on 11/13/2023, 6:18 PM
So I really need help with this cause its honestly insane this hasn't been fixed yet. Basically if I upload a green screen video into vegas after awhile I'll start encountering a bug where mp4 files will start showing as either just a green screen like (like the video before you chroma keyed it out) or glitched versions of other mp4 videos on the timeline. If theres a good way to upload images here Ill provide an example. I'm on vegas pro 21, used to use 17 and never had this issue even after many, many years. switch over to 21 and now its seems to happen as soon as 1 too many green screen video files are added in. I've also watched videos that tell you to delete a file in the vegas pro folder or something but these don't work (I'll link one below as an example) Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Can you share basic information like your CPU and GPU model and what kind of media you use? https://www.vegascreativesoftware.info/us/forum/faq-how-to-post-mediainfo-and-vegas-pro-file-properties--104561/

CPU - Intel i7-9700k

GPU - NVIDIA Geforce RTX 3060

Not sure where to get the info for from the methods linked as the post is outdated as far as where everything is. Also this site isn't letting upload an export of the file in text form (it is letting me upload images now though!)

@joe-m1228 I don't understand what you're trying to show with that picture?

Track 1 - is it a png with a transparent background or is it green screen? (there's no fx like chromakey added to that event)

Track 2 - 1st event - again is it a png with a transparent background or is it green screen? (there's no fx like chromakey added to that event)

Track 3 - I can see a tv with a transparent screen on the timeline - again is it a png with a transparent cut-out or is it green screen? (there's no fx like chromakey added to that event)

-----------

You shouldn't have to start going into the plugins & start renaming them.

The post has a link to Mediainfo and more importantly how to use it. Just copy and paste as plain text here.

Track 11 is the green video that is the problem, the video has been chrome keyed so it should just be showing the effect but is showing the green screen instead,

the rest of the tracks are just pngs that don't matter for this.

@joe-m1228 Thanks, can you share the MediaInfo for that TV Off event or better still share the actual clip, I have a TV Off effect but i prob won't be able to replicate exactly the info within your clip.

Upload it to a file sharing site like Google drive

  1. Open Google, top right is a sq of dots - Open Google Drive.
  2. Drag that video onto the Google Drive window, let it upload.
  3. Right click on the file on screen - Share.
  4. A window will pop up, General Access - choose anyone with the link - Copy link.
  5. Then on here in a new comment at the top there's a chain button, paste the link on there

Hi, so I'll post the mediainfo here just below. It is for a different file just cause that's the one I have but also because the issue is with all of them once the bug starts it effects every mp4 video and there isn't a single file that's different to others. The image I gave was just one I took as an example it's not a problem with just that file in particular. As for providing a clip I might have one from when this happened before that I rendered but I'm not sure and I can't just get one now cause once you reload vegas it fixes itself for a time so right now its working fine but I can bet it'll start happening again lol.
