Vegas Pro 22 Suite, the video does not appear on the video trak

LEEKYUNG-KIM wrote on 8/25/2024, 1:30 AM

When I import a video file into Vegas Pro 22 Suite, only the audio is active, and the video does not appear on the video trak. The video file appear in Vegas pro 15, and I tested other video files, does not apper in Vegas Pro 22 Suite. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Just to clarify are you saying that when you drag a video/audio event onto an empty timeline, only an audio track is created on the timeline and a video track is not created; or is it that there are both audio and video tracks on the timeline but the video does not display in the preview window?

If the latter, a common reason for this is that the Trimmer window is active, not the Preview Window. To solve, just click on the 'Video Preview' tab:

Hi, Dexcon.

Thank you for your response. My issue looks like the one shown in the attaches picture.

Do you know how to fix this? Please!!!

Reyfox wrote on 8/26/2024, 10:24 AM

Without knowing your computer specs or what type of video you are trying to import (what actually created the video file), it is hard to come up with a solution. You have to provide this information.

In order to help you, provide the information in "B" and "C" in this POST in your reply.

Also, add your computer specs, like mine below, to your Signature in your User Profile.

LEEKYUNG-KIM wrote on 8/26/2024, 11:20 PM

This is my computer specs.

Reyfox wrote on 8/27/2024, 3:22 AM

Sorry, the images are very tiny. Why not type it out?

But looking at the specs of your computer hardware, they do not meet the recommended specs for editing HD footage. Here is what is listed on the Vegas website: NVIDIA® GTX 900 Series or newer with 4GB

Your GPU is 12 years old. Have you updated the drivers?

Also, what video file did you try and import? What created it?

Finish answering the questions from the link in my post above please.

In Options>Preferences>Video tab, GPU acceleration of video processing, turn it OFF. Also in File I/O tab, Hardware Decoder To Use, also OFF.

Report back what happens.

I'm having the same problem in Vegas 22. I recorded some snippets off the OTA TV with my Hauppauge WinTV card to play around with in VP22. One segment imported and played fine - the MediaInfo report is below:

I assume its something with this clip and not how VP22 is set up as the other clip plays fine. Any thoughts? This is on my System 1 in my signature. Thanks in advance!

Sorry for resurrecting this thread but I think in my case, unlike for LEEKYUNG-KIM, this is not a hardware issue. Did not have this issue on VP21 so I'm guessing its a setting I missed somewhere?

@Indyman32 Please start a new thread as it's unlikely to be the same media as what the OP is using (you have interlaced MPG?) Even better if you can provide a small sample file so we can test it with different systems.
