VEGAS Pro 23 Bug: Timeline Events Lag After Ungrouping Video/Audio

Hello everyone,

I've discovered a serious bug that affects both video and audio events on the timeline, but only after they have been ungrouped from a video clip. This issue has a significant impact on workflow.

Here is a step-by-step breakdown of my workflow that consistently leads to the problem:

I place a video clip (almost any video file, for example H264 or H265 file 8bit or 10bit) onto the timeline.

I then ungroup the video and audio events (using U).

I attempt to drag either the ungrouped video event or the ungrouped audio event.

The dragging motion is extremely jerky and laggy.

Crucially, this problem does not occur with any of the following:

Dragging the video and audio events when they are still grouped or Dragging them together.

Delete one of the ungrouped events. For example, if I delete the video event, the audio event can be dragged smoothly afterward.

Dragging any standalone media files (such as WAV or MP3 audio, or separate video files) on the timeline.

This bug appeared in my VEGAS Pro 21 and 22 as well immediately after I installed VEGAS Pro 23, and it affects both new and older projects in all versions of VEGAS PRO 21,22 & 23. I have already tried reinstalling VEGAS Pro 23 and my graphics drivers, but the issue remains.

Has anyone else experienced this specific behavior.?

I have also attached a short video clip that demonstrates the laggy and jerky behavior for easier diagnosis.

My apologies for the oversight in my earlier post.

Upon further testing, I have discovered that this bug affects both the video and audio events on the timeline after they have been ungrouped. My initial focus was on the audio, but it's clear the jerky and laggy behavior applies to both. i could delete the previous post if there's confusion.

Thanks for clarifying the issue; in general you can just continue in one post as we can edit the title if you request it.

Since I couldn't edit my previous post, This new post clarifies the bug affects both video and audio.
